In my work with victims of narcissistic abuse I notice how difficult it can be for those who have been devalued and discarded by a narcissistic personality to pull themselves back up and find love again.

People who are very loving, compassionate and empathetic are often targets for the projection of the shadow from unconscious people. Those who carry a lot of light are also the target for those lost in darkness. When one is targeted by unconscious people it can be difficult to stay strong in oneself. Even Jesus was challenged by the constant persecution that came with walking in the light and speaking his truth.

How do we stay firmly rooted in the light of love? How do we stay true to ourselves when that truth is constantly being distorted by others? How do we love ourselves when we are hated by others?
